Iain

Iain brings a number of strong influences to VOTBK – not only his acoustic guitar and voice, but also his disenchantment with British and Scottish politics, and his frustration with society. Iain consequently writes most of the lyrics for VOTBK, as well as performing them.

Iain grew up on the Hebredian island of Lewis, in a society that frowned upon the music and interests that he had. However, the island life has left its mark on Iain, and consequently on the sound and subject matter of VOTBK’s music and lyrics. There are few other punk bands that eulogise the Scottish fishing industry or the morals of travelling on Sundays!

Iain and John have previously performed together in rock band STML.

Iain’s musical influences include The Clash, Frank Turner, Crass, New Model Army, Soulfly and Gogol Bordello.
