Andy

Andy is not the hairy one in VOTBK, that’s for sure. Andy has known Roddy and John for almost 20 years, since University days in Edinburgh. In fact, in the early ninties, Andy started a metal/hard rock band in Edinburgh (Cry Hades) with Roddy. Later, Andy was sacked from that band by the rest of the members, Roddy included!

Andy plays lead and rhythm electric guitars, and mandolin. His all time hero is Stevie Ray Vaughan, and he has a loosely connected hatred of Eric Clapton as a result (Vaughan was killed while in a seat on a flight vacated by Clapton at the last minute).

Andy’s claim to fame is that he attended the Mother Love Bone reunion gig in Seattle in the Spring of 2010 – an event attended by many of Andy’s musical heroes. He also had the privilege of a guest pass for the “secret” Soundgarden set at the Showbox later that week and met the same heroes all over again.  The rest of the band have not heard the end of it since! Andy has also played for Holocaust and endorphin.

Andy’s music influences include Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Chris Poland.
