Biography

The sleazy product of graveyard cavorting between the Levellers and Jonny Cash. Shot in widescreen HD, with a soundtrack by Neil Young.
Voice of the Black knife have evolved from a simple folk duo to a five piece anarchic folk-punk band comprising multi-vocals, three guitars, occasional mandolin, bass and drums. With an uncomprimising and sometimes uplifting and energetic style, VOTBK have been described as “West Lothian’s most unique punk rock band… the best of a generation.”
The five members are all immigrants to West Lothian, from Lewis, Liverpool, Lockerbie, the Borders and Ireland – each member brings something of his own roots to the music, creating a unique blend of celtic/anglo-folk punk, perhaps most akin to New Model Army, but with subtle hints of a mulitude of influences as diverse as Crass, Lennon, Neil Young and Johnny Cash.
